Are you interested…

In treating people who suffer from a variety of mental and emotional problems like learning disabilities, emotional problems, and mental disorders?
In diagnosing and assessing individuals who are having mental health issues?
In working in your community to better understand how it impacts the mental health of the residents?
In finding ways to get the community more involved in improving itself?
In working with different populations (children, adults, individuals, groups)

Depending on which of the three areas you are interested in your educational needs will vary. A bachelor’s degree and a masters degree is needed for certain careers in community and counseling. A doctorate will be required for clinical and several jobs in community and counseling.
