Parent Participation
Parents are welcome at SC Learning Center at any time. It is not necessary to make an appointment to visit or observe, though we do ask that your arrival be as unobtrusive as possible.
Daily, informal conversations between parents and teachers are encouraged. Such exchanges help the teachers be more familiar with the children's development, needs, characteristics and interests, and help the parents know more about how the children spend the day. We hope to establish informal and friendly relationships between teachers and parents.
Conferences between the teachers and each child's parent(s) are scheduled at least twice yearly and more frequently if the teachers or parents feel it is desirable. Parents should not hesitate to ask for a conference at any time. Teachers plan visits to each child's home for the purpose of getting to know the children and their families in their most familiar surroundings. Parent meetings and informal gatherings are scheduled for the purpose of discussion and fellowship. Meetings are held in the evenings and childcare is provided.
Parent Newsletter
Each week the SC Learning Center puts out a newsletter for parents which includes the learning activities and focus for that week. It also includes SCLC news, reminders, important dates, contact information, and fun quotes.
