Meditation & Self-Inquiry Workshop

Are you curious about exploring spirituality and understanding the world through the lens of Eastern philosophies? The Faculty Personnel Committee and Deets Library invite you to join Dr. Roshan Adikari and Prof. Shiven Saxena every Friday, 11 a.m.- noon, in Deets Library Reading Room for a series of workshops and follow-along yoga sessions designed for beginners and open to all faculty, staff, students, and community members. Whether you're seeking mental clarity, spiritual growth, or simply a peaceful break from your routine, these gatherings offer a welcoming space to learn, reflect, and connect. First, third & fourth Fridays: yoga; second Friday: workshop/discussion.

Fri., Sept 13: Workshop — Meditation, Self-Inquiry

Rene Descartes once said, “I think therefore I am.” However, eastern philosophies see the self a little differently. Join Roshan and Shiven as they discuss how deeper meditation can reveal the self in ways not possible using Descartes’ model of the “thinking entity” and teach us that perceptions we have about the world are not necessarily universal.
