Professional Studies Partners with Vatterott College

Southwestern College Professional Studies and Vatterott College have agreed to partner to allow students of both institutions more educational opportunities.

“Vatterott has 21 campuses throughout the Midwest,” says Mary Johnson, director of organizational partnerships for Southwestern College Professional Studies.  “They offer technical training and associate degrees. Our partnership will allow their students to combine the skills they attain at Vatterott with one of our bachelor degrees.”

Karen P and Vatterott ProvostCoursework presented by students who have attended Vatterott will transfer to
Southwestern College Professional Studies, with the exception of courses identified by the first institution as developmental/remedial. A maximum of 64 hours earned at Vatterott will apply to the Southwestern College bachelor’s degree.  Students transferring with an associate degree from Vatterott will not be required to take any further general education coursework if they have already completed English composition I and II as well as a college level math course. Students will only be required to complete coursework in their chosen major plus any additional coursework needed to reach a minimum of 60 hours of upper division course work. Students must have a minimum of 124 credit hours to graduate from Southwestern College Professional Studies.

“We are so excited about our new partnership with Vatterott,” says Johnson. “Together we will be able to offer learners a seamless transition from an associate degree to a full bachelor’s degree.”
