SC Expands Certificate Program

Southwestern College Professional Studies has more than doubled its certificate program offerings and is now offering certificate programs at the graduate level.
Five new undergraduate certificate program offerings have been added. These include enterprise quality management, change leadership, ministry leadership, cyber crime investigation, and organizational communication.
The five new graduate certificate programs are executive leadership, enterprise risk management, emergency planning, youth ministry for the lay leader, and executive quality management.
Credit hours earned for these certificate programs can be used to satisfy credit hour requirements for Southwestern College’s bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
“Getting a certificate first can reduce the time it takes to earn a full degree,” says Karen Pedersen, vice president for Southwestern College Professional Studies. “Learners will also be able to increase their competitiveness at work. They can increase their skills in a particular content area or update their skills to current standards.”
All of the new certificates are offered online which, according to Pedersen, gives the learner greater flexibility.
