Southwestern College Homecoming Events Announced

Homecoming Festivities are planned for Southwestern College Homecoming 2008.  Activities get underway Friday, Oct. 10, and conclude Sunday, Oct. 12.

“The purpose of SC Homecoming is to promote a renewed spirit of Southwestern College, as well as to welcome SC alumni back to campus, said Sheleah Taylor, director of campus life. “The week is full of exciting activities that focus on building strong tradition and bonds with classmates and the SC community.”

According to Susan Lowe, director of alumni programs, Homecoming 2008 promises to be one of the best “coming home” gatherings yet.

“We are proud to have the rededication of the Harold and Mary Ellen Deets Library, along with a myriad of other events,” Lowe says.  “In addition to class reunions, there will be two great affinity reunions: one for alumni who participated in football and one for alumni who were involved in fine arts.  Football alumni will have a steak dinner on Friday night, including silent auction, football campaign presentation, and a tour of the athletics facilities.  Saturday night, fine arts alumni will have an exclusive Builder Banquet on Richardson Auditorium stage, complete with entertainment and a vision of the dreams for Richardson renovation.  Response for all the Homecoming gatherings has been very strong and we anticipate the momentum will continue to build through the weekend of activities.”
