Award Winning Christian Music Artist Mark Schultz to Perform at Southwestern College May 28

Christian music recording artist Mark Schultz will perform in the Richardson Performing Arts Center at Southwestern College on Saturday, May 28, at 7 p.m.  The concert will benefit the American Cancer Society.  Tickets are $15.

Mark SchultzSchultz, a Colby native, is a platinum-selling artist and an 18-time Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove nominee in the categories of Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Writer of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year.  The GMA Dove Awards honors outstanding achievements and excellence in Christian music.  Schultz has released nine albums including GMA Dove Award winner “Mark Schultz Live…A Night of Stories and Songs.”  He has had several number one hit songs including “He’s My Son,” “Child of Mine,” “I Am the Way,” and “Remember Me.”  He has sold over 1.3 million albums.  

While at Southwestern, Schultz and his band will spend time with students from around the state who are attending the Amp It Up camp.  Amp It Up camp is for high-school-aged students on praise and worship teams.

Schultz attended Kansas State University and now lives in Nashville with his wife, Kate, and son, Ryan.
