The Importance of Being Earnest, A Trivial Comedy for Serious People by Oscar Wilde will follow a dinner that's a serious British feast for trivial tastes. Through the twists and turns of this facical romp, Wilde's leading characters create the fictitious Ernest in order to escape their burdensome obligations. The high farce, witty dialogue, trivialization of institutions such as marriage, and satire of the upper crust values have helped make this play one of the most enduringly popular comedies of all time.
