SC Offers Rides to Wichita Symphony Orchestra
The Southwestern College performing arts division will provide transportation to and from the Wichita Symphony Orchestra Classic Series concerts on Sundays during the 2018-19 season.
“For those who want to ride with others and avoid driving in the Wichita traffic, this offer affords an enjoyable enhancement to the concert,” says Tim Shook, chair of the Division of Performing Arts at Southwestern College.
“The services are provided by members of the college’s performing arts division student organization, ToneBuilders, which allows students to benefit from the experience and opportunity to make community connections and outreach,” says Aidan Wells Filbert, president of ToneBuilders.
Concert dates include Sept. 16, Oct. 28, Nov. 11, Jan. 27, Feb. 17, Mar. 17, and April 14.
To sign up, contact the performing arts office at (620) 229-6272 by Wednesday at 5 p.m. before each concert. The division asks for a donation of $10 to cover the cost of car rental, mileage, and gas.
“We meet at Darbeth Fine Arts Center on the Southwestern College campus around 1 p.m.,” Wells Filbert says.
