College Hill Coffee to Host Three Performances on November 18

An evening of music, friendship, fun, and coffee is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 18, at College Hill Coffee at 403 Soward in Winfield.  The community is invited to attend and there is no admission charge.

The Community Music School will perform at 7 p.m., followed by the Brass Ensemble from Southwestern College at 7:30 p.m., and finishing up with the vocal group Teachappella at 8 p.m.

Community Music School students from the voice, violin, and piano studios will be performing secular and non-holiday selections with performers ranging in age from four to seventy. They will exhibit the school’s diverse spectrum of experience levels in a variety of genres from contemporary to more classical styles.

“It is always a pleasure to collaborate with our most staunch supporters in the arts and to give the community a sampling of what the Community Music School is all about,” says Dylan Moore, director for The Community Music School.

The SC Brass Ensemble is a four-member group which includes Lawrence Taylor, Nathan Metzinger, Jonathon Lane, and Tanner Schartz. According to Moore, the group will perform a number of holiday favorites with a special brass flare.

Teachapella is a four-member a cappella group performing a mixture of a cappella favorites, soul stirring spirituals, hard rock anthems, and more uplifting musical selections. The group includes JourneyKids Choir director, Nikki Kirk, and local teachers Alisha Montgomery, Rachael Vann, and RyAnn Myers.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Nikki Kirk and Teachappella to offer this eclectic program of music at College Hill Coffee,” Moore says.
