SCCU Will Present ‘I’ll Be Home’ on Friday, December 4

The Southwestern College Choral Union (SCCU) will present their winter concert, “I’ll Be Home,” on Friday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m., in the Richardson Performing Arts Center on the campus of Southwestern College.

Director Brian Winnie says that “I’ll Be Home” is a family story of hope, love, and joy told through a community of singers.

“With the father fighting for his country, his family back home shares their memories of love with pieces such as Sjolund’s ‘Kumbaya,’ Whitacre’s ‘Five Hebrew Love Songs,’ and Syler’s ‘Dear Sarah,’ Winnie says.  “You will hear the hopes and prayers of a family asking for their family to be reunited for Christmas with contemporary songs ‘Where Are You Christmas?’ and ‘Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).’ Dreams are finally answered as the father appears on stage united with his family for the Christmas season, singing ‘I Had the Time of My Life’ followed by a tale of their love in ‘Suddenly’ from the movie ‘Les Misérables.’”

Tickets are $10 for adults and students, free for children.  For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Dylan Moore at (620) 229-6272 or go online at https://www.showclix.com/event/Ill-be-home.
