Vocal Recital by Kenneth Clymer

Tenor, Kenneth Clymer, received a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Kenneth had the honor of singing as a Resident Artist at the Wichita Grand Opera in 2013, where he understudied the role of Otello. He appeared as Tito in the BASOTI (Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute) production of Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito. Kenneth sang the role of Scaramuccio in a concert production of the Strauss opera Ariadne auf Naxos at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He has appeared in the Ensemble of the SFCM productions of The Rakes Progress, The dialogues of the Carmelites, and as the Notary in Gianni Schicchi. He also appeared in several musical theater productions such as She Loves Me. He was a member of the Fort Worth Opera Festival chorus in Rossini’s Cenerentola, Bizet’s Carmen, and as Solo inmate in Jake Heggie’s Dead Man Walking. He also has appeared in Fort Worth Opera productions of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, Puccini’s Turandot, Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors, and several other productions. At the University of Texas at Arlington, he obtained his Bachelor of Music degree, performed roles such as Tamino in Mozart’s Magic Flute and was the winner of the DFW area NATS Division X Classical Vocal Competition. He currently teaches privately in Dallas, TX.

Deborah Martin, a sophomore pursuing a B.A. in Music with an emphasis in piano and voice as a secondary and a piano instructor at the Community Music School, will be accompanying Clymer on the recital.  She was the bronze medalist of the 2013 Kansas Music Teachers Association freshman/sophomore piano competition.
