Southwestern College’s Opening Convocation will wrap up the festivities for Fall Frenzy 2009.

The Opening Convocation is Friday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m. in Richardson Auditorium in Christy Administration Building.  The guest speaker is writer/comedian John Donovan.  The convocation will also feature the introduction of new faculty, recognition of students that were included on the Dean’s Honor Roll for the spring 2009 semester, and announcement of the scholar of the college.

Donovan has performed standup and musical comedy across the United States and Canada.  He has worked for the Warner Brothers Television network and Fox Television.  He is currently employed by ABC Studios in Burbank, Calif.

Fall Frenzy is a multitude of activities intended to show freshman, transfer, and returning students that the college is glad they are at Southwestern.  Activities included Builder Camp, freshman work day, a welcome back barbeque, Sunday sundaes, the Moundbuilding ceremony, and a live concert during the Block Bash.
