        Masterbuilders
         The six graduating seniors most representative of the
          Southwestern spirit were voted by faculty and staff and announced at
          the spring honors convocation. Masterbuilders for 2003 are (from front,
          clockwise) Joe David Gilmore, Szeitho Wei Shen, , Kari Good, Emily
        Bauer, and Seth Roach. Travis Hastings is not pictured.

          Outstanding Faculty Award; and Victoria White, professor of education
          and director of teacher education, United Methodist Exemplary Teaching
        Award winner.

         Student Government Association members chose faculty
          and staff as SGA Citation recipients. Craig Johnson, laptop support
          technician, and James Schuppener, professor of choral music, received
        these top student-voted awards.

        Professional Studies Honors Outstanding Company, Faculty
         Southwestern College Professional Studies honored affiliate
          faculty and educational partners at its annual faculty banquet March
        28 in Wichita. Honors presented included:

          Educational Partnership Award: Cessna Aircraft Company (for promoting
            employee participation in certification courses offered by Southwestern
            and promoting Professional Studies to employees seeking to complete
          their college degrees)
        • Affiliate Faculty Member of the Year: George Fuller (for his
          work in curriculum development for both the computer programming technology
          and the computer operations technology programs)

        as a new faculty member in the human resource development program)

        PS Students Win Scholarships
        
 Lisa Tidwell (left) and Kelly Johnson are recipients of special scholarships
            offered through the Southwestern College Professional Studies program.
            Johnson, a May graduate with a major in computer operations technology,
            received the $1,000 Ethel Fitton Annual Scholarship. Tidwell will
            graduate in August with majors in computer operations technology
            and manufacturing technology, and received a $500 Boeing Company
        Charitable Trust Scholarship.
