Southwestsern College, Winfield Area Chamber of Commerce, Winfield Economic Development, and Cowley County Economic Development Partnership invite you to submit your business plan idea for a chance to compete in the 2024 Inspire Start-Up Pitch Event! Submit your written plan for a chance in the Finals where you'll present your business to a room of business owners and community members and compete for cash prizes! You will also have the opportunity to present in front of local investors if you make it to the finals!
HOW TO ENTER
Please submit your business plan in the form below. Entries are accepted from September 23, 2024 through November 7, 2024 11:59pm. Finalists will be notified by email on November 8, 2024 and invited to make an oral presentation at the final event on November 12, 2024 at 7:00pm. Finals will take place at Deets Library on the Southwesstern College campus.
RULES AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Competition is only open to start-up businesses. If you are a business who is going through an expansion or an individual who is in the idea conception stage, thank you for your interest in the competition; however, you are not eligible to apply. We encourage you to utilitze the business resources below and check back in future years for a potential opportunity to apply.
- Competition is open to any student or individual in the Cowley County region. Entry is FREE.
- The event has three stages:
- Written Proposals Submitted: September 23rd through November 7, 2024.
- Finalists Selected: November 8, 2024
- Presentations: November 12, 2024
- While all entries are welcome, of special interest are proposals for innovations in or design of products, processes, systems, services or businesses that are economically sustainable and would positively impact our community.
FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS
Written business plans are limited to five (5) pages of text (typed, 12-point font, and 1" margins on all sides). The cover page and table of contents are not included in the 5-page limit. Detailed spreadsheets and appropriate appendices should follow the text portion of the business plan; 5 additional pages are allowed for this section. Plans that do not use all 5 pages allotted to the appendices and spreadsheet section may NOT be used to increase the size of their 5-page business plan. In total, the maximum number of pages is 12.
