John Drury to Present Parkhurst Lecture
John Drury, spiritual engagement director at Indiana Wesleyan University, will present the Parkhurst Lecture at Southwestern College on Wednesday, March 30, at 5 p.m., in Deets Library on the SC campus. There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend.
The topic of his lecture is “The Divine Economy of Glory in the Gospel of John.”
“We’re excited to have John with us,” says Jackson Lashier, associate professor of religion and chair of the social science division at Southwestern College. “He is an excellent scholar and theologian, but also he has a unique ability to communicate his insights in a way that really connects with his audience. In particular, he has a heart for the spiritual formation of students.”
Prior to his current position at Indiana Wesleyan University, Drury taught theology at Wesleyan Seminary for 12 years. He holds a Ph. D in systematic theology from Princeton University and a master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary.
The Parkhurst Lecture is one of three annual endowed lectures hosted by the philosophy and religion department of the social sciences division at Southwestern College. This lecture focuses on Biblical studies.
