David Dault, host and executive producer of the radio show and podcast “Things Not Seen” will be the featured speaker for Southwestern College’s Smith-Willson lecture on Friday, Oct. 25, at 4 p.m. in Messenger Recital Hall in the Darbeth Fine Arts Center. There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend.

Dault’s lecture will focus on what healthy theological dialogue looks like as podcasts become more mainstream.
Dault has a Ph.D. in religion from Vanderbilt and a masters degree from Columbia Theological Seminary. When he began “Things Not Seen,” he was teaching in the religion department of a liberal arts college in Memphis. He moved to Chicago with his family in 2013 and spent five years as the executive director of a nonprofit company producing faith-focused media for television, radio, and the web.

He is currently a visiting scholar for theology and media at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago.

“Things Not Seen” is an independent radio show and podcast that features in-depth interviews with nationally recognized guests. Each week, they welcome authors, musicians, politicians, filmmakers, and more. He produces the show from studios in the Hyde Park neighborhood, on Chicago's south side, where he lives with his family.

The Smith-Willson lectureship was established by Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Willson to call attention to the important moral and religious aspects of education. National leaders on various related topics are asked to speak at the annual lecture.
