New Faculty and Staff Announced at Southwestern College

New Southwestern College faculty and staff were introduced at the annual Welcome Back Dinner held Monday, Aug. 12.

New faculty include:
• Chris Duszka, assistant professor of criminal justice.  He holds a Ph.D. in public affairs and a master of science degree in criminal justice from Florida International University and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University. Prior to coming to Southwestern, Duszka worked for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement where he served as a crime intelligence analyst. 
• David Fritzlen, instructor of accounting.  Fritzlen earned his bachelor of science degree in business from Baker University, a master of science degree in accounting from Kansas University, and is a CPA.
• Mark Keats, assistant professor of English.  He earned his bachelor of arts degree in Japanese language and literature and a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from the University of Maryland College Park. He holds a Ph.D. in English from Texas Tech University.
• Joshua Robinson, associate professor of musical theatre. In addition to his Ph.D. in theater from Indiana University, he holds a master of arts degree in American studies from Columbia University and a bachelor of arts degree in history from Kean University. 
• Reginald (Reggie) Jarrell, instructor of communication.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from American University, a master’s degree in mass communications and journalism from Iowa State University, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law.  He also holds a master of divinity and is pursuing a doctor of ministry degree from the American Baptist Seminary of the West in Berkeley, California.

•           Brianna Brooks, financial aid counselor
•           Krysta Wood, financial aid counselor

•           LaRide Connerly, admissions counselor
•           Gena Crow, executive assistant for the office of academic affairs
•           Patty VanEtten, administrative assistant for student affairs
•           Connor Wolfe, residence director Wallingford Hall
•           Gerald Conrad, head volleyball coach
•           Edward Ortiz, head track and field coach
•           Garrett Young, head cross country coach
•           Kelci Feist, head cheer and dance coach
•           Michelle Zakharov, director of the community music school
•           Trevor Strong, assistant football coach
•           Jake Kapustka, graduate assistant football coach
•           Peyton Timmerman, graduate assistant softball coach
•           Tyler Urps, graduate assistant baseball coach
•           Austin Brown, graduate assistant baseball coach
•           Colton Koch, graduate assistant athletic training
•           Myra Tiu, graduate assistant athletic training
•           Avery Sims, graduate assistant for athletic administration
