Two Southwestern College students seized the opportunity to enjoy the nice weather recently by setting up their hammocks.  Aaron Hartley (in front), Guthrie, Okla., and Sheldon Hawthorne, Beaumont, Texas, said it was a bit warm but very relaxing. 

Southwestern senior Shayla Jordan, Wichita, created a hammocking club through the Southwestern College Student Government Association as part of her senior Leadership project.  Jordan say they have a sponsorship through ENO Hammocks and receive a 50% discount on all products. This semester, they purchased 55 hammocks with this discount; 35 for members who purchased their hammock bed and straps with a t-shirt for $25 and the organization matched that amount to purchase the full hammock at $50. Twenty of the hammocks were purchased for a check-out system through the library. Students, staff, and faculty now have the opportunity to check-out hammocks, just like checking-out books, for free.
