MLK Day Celebration at Southwestern College on Jan. 15

Southwestern College will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration on Monday, Jan. 15, at 6:30 p.m., in the Richardson Performing Arts Center.  The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge.

The theme of the celebration is “What’s Your Calling?”

“The celebration will focus on how the life and beliefs of Dr. King can shape us to think about our calling and purpose, just as his calling and purpose was to create change and break down barriers in our society,” says Anjaih Clemons, director of student life at Southwestern College.

The featured speaker will be Southwestern College graduate Brock Brown, pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Winfield. The celebration will also feature performances from current students and SC alumni Jeremiah Roberts and Jasmine Jackson.
