Exciting Spring Anticipated with SC Theatre

Campus Players and the Southwestern College theatre department are launching the second half of the 2009-2010 theatre season.  Auditions were held shortly after returning from touring in England and being recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, auditions were held and the shows were cast.  The department will kick off the rest of the season with three shows: “Romeo and Juliet,” “Acts of Consequences,” and “Anton in Show Business.”    
          
  Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” is a major collaboration by Roger Moon, theatre director, and Daniel Stevens, assistant professor of strings music and conductor of the South Kansas Symphony.  The symphony will underscore the performances in Richardson Auditorium on March 3, 5, and 7, and March 4 at The Poncan in Ponca City, Okla. 
          
  “Acts of Consequences” is a collection of senior projects and one-acts directed by students of the Directing 2 class.  It will take place April 13 and 14 in the Helen Graham Little Theatre in the lower level of the Christy Administration Building. 
          
  Finishing the season is “Anton in Show Business,” by Jane Martin, a modern comedy about the preparation of Chekov’s “Three Sisters” in Texas.  The all-female cast is directed by Allyson Moon.  This show will take place April 15, 16, and 18, and will also be in the Helen Graham Little Theatre on the lower level of the Christy Administration Building.
