SC Youth Symphony Concert Sunday

The Southwestern College Youth Symphony will present its first concert of the season on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium on the Southwestern College campus.

The program will include “A Hectic Overture” by John Lloyd, movements from Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5” in C minor, Op. 67, and “Millennium” by Richard Meyer.

“I came home from the first rehearsal with this group in August and all I could say was ‘Wow’” says executive director and conductor Daniel Stevens. “This fifth season is our biggest to date. We have our largest ensemble and we are preparing for our first tour to perform in Branson in December.”

There are 58 youth in the symphony.

Tickets are $5 and may be purchased in advance or at the door. A short reception will follow the performance.
