Community Music School Administrator to Lead Final Masterclass

The final 2009-10 Masterclass at the Community Music School at Southwestern College has been scheduled for Saturday, April 10, from 10:30 a.m.-noon.  Melissa Williamson, Community Music School administrator and affiliate music faculty member at Southwestern College, is presenting.

The title of the class is “Practice Tips and Techniques: How to Practice Effectively.”

“As we approach the summer months, it can be difficult to keep up good practice habits,” Williamson says.  “During this masterclass we will examine and discuss productive practicing techniques.  Musicians can often spend hours in the practice room and everyone has a unique way of learning and practicing.  All masterclass participants are encouraged to bring their instruments to try out some new practice techniques, music they are currently working to play, and practice tips of their own to share with the group.”

The Community Music School hopes to continue the masterclasses in the 2010-11 school year.
