SC Concert Band to Perform Second Concert of the Season

The Southwestern College Concert Band continues its season on Sunday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. in Richardson Auditorium in Christy Administration Building on the campus of Southwestern College. Concert highlights will include Holst’s “Second Suite for Military Band,” Saint-Saens’ “Orient et Occident,” and Bilik’s “Block M Concert March.”

“The Concert Band will be featuring classic, standard repertoire for symphonic bands in this concert,” says executive director and conductor Daniel Stevens.  The Holst suite and ‘Molly on the Shore’ contains melodies familiar to most ears, and are found in their original contexts.  A personal highlight is found in the opening ‘Fanfare and Flourishes,’ a two-minute composition, that will have the audience on the edge of their seats.”

The event is underwritten by Warren D. and Colleen Andreas.
