The South Kansas Symphony will present its final concert of the 2018-2019 season, Mozart's “Requiem,” Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m., in Richardson Performing Arts Center at Southwestern College. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children (5-18), and free for Southwestern College faculty, staff, students, and youth symphony members.

The concert is sponsored by Larry and Linda Hahn.

Winners from the annual Concerto Competition are traditionally featured at this concert. The 2019 competition, held in March, was sponsored by The Trust Company of Kansas - Stephen English. This year's junior division finalists will be recognized, with the first and second place winners also performing on the concert:

• Elizabeth Kim, junior division winner, alto saxophone, 11th grader from Manhattan High School
• Sharon Sun, junior division second place, violin, seventh grader from Robinson Middle School (Wichita)
• Anna Burford, junior division third place, flute, 12th grader from Park City.

The concert will feature Kim performing “Tableaux de Provence” and Sun performing “Fantaisie Ballet,” following the “Don Giovanni Overture” by Mozart.

Also joining the symphony will be Southwestern College's Choral Union and A Cappella Choirs, conducted by Aaron Knodle. The entire Mozart "Requiem" will be performed in the second half of the concert, featuring guest soloists Carter Tholl (soprano), Sable Strout (mezzo-soprano), Logan Barat (tenor), and Phillip Lopez (baritone).
