South Kansas Symphony Concerto Competition 2017
The South Kansas Symphony's 2017 Concerto Competition is a great way for high school students, who wish to pursue music in their future, to get the experience they want and need. It offers a similar experience for those music majors who are attending Southwestern College and wish to know what it is like to perform with a symphony. The Concerto Competition is a wonderful experience for any and all music students to increase their repertoire, increase performance opportunities, build relationships within the music community, and maybe even win some prize money!
The competition is open to all instruments and voice, and will take place on March 4, 2017 in Messenger Recital Hall on the Southwestern College campus. There is a junior division, which is open to 12-18 year old musicians from Kansas and Oklahoma, or past attendees of the Cole Family Summer Music Festival. Then there is the senior division, which is open to all current Southwerstern College students. The application deadline is February 4, 2017 and the entry fee is $25. The application and rules can be found in the following link: http://www.sckans.edu/other/south-kansas-symphony/concerto-competition/.
