The Community Music School (CMS) JourneyKids Choir and the Southwestern College African Drum & Dance Ensemble will be hosting open house and rehearsals on Thursday, March 3, in the Darbeth Rehearsal Hall at Southwestern College.

The CMS JourneyKids Choir open house is from 5:30-6:30 p.m.  The choir is open to students in grades 2-8, and is a choral opportunity for students of all experience levels from Winfield and the surrounding communities. Currently, the group has 26 members. The JourneyKids Choir will have a final enrollment following the open house, which will be the last time for students to join the group for the spring 2016 semester. 

“We invite any students, parents, and teachers of the community for an informative and enlivening experience with our wonderful young singers,” says CMS director Dylan Moore.

The Southwestern College African Drum & Dance Ensemble open house and rehearsal will be from 7-8 p.m. This open rehearsal is free to anyone age 16 and up. The Southwestern College African Drum & Dance Ensemble learns, explores, and shares aspects of sub-Saharan African music, dance, and culture with the SC campus and community.
