McKenzie Wheeler Recital Sunday at Southwestern College

Southwestern College will host the senior recital for McKenzie Wheeler, music major from Winfield. The recital is Sunday, April 6, at 3 p.m. in Messenger Recital Hall in the Darbeth Fine Arts Center on the campus of Southwestern College. The public is invited to attend and there is no admission charge.

McKenzie WheelerWheeler will be performing songs by Mozart from the opera “Cosi fan Tutte,” several Faure pieces including “Caire de Lune,” two spirituals by Moses Hogan, a selection from Antonio Vivaldi’s “Gloria” featuring members of SC Singers, and more.  She will be accompanied by Deborah Martin on the piano and James Leland on harpsichord.  

Wheeler is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in music and plans to continue towards her teaching degree after graduation.  She is currently the director of music at Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield.

A reception will follow the recital.
