As a kickoff to SC's Homecoming Week, Southwestern's three service learning teams, Leadership Southwestern, Discipleship Southwestern and Green Team Southwestern, will come together to sponsor a Numana food packaging event called SWIPEout Hunger.  As a part of a larger statewide effort in higher education, Southwestern will join nine other colleges and universities throughout Kansas in packaging 20,000 meals to send to countries in need.  Southwestern athletic teams and other organizations on campus will also take part in the service event.  The three service learning teams hope that the kickoff event will remind the campus and community that service is a crucial part of Southwestern's mission in developing students capable of leading in a world without boundaries.
