Returning Student Housing

RETURNING STUDENTS
HOUSING SIGN-UPS FOR 2017-2018

Housing sign-up will begin with a Private Room Lottery on March 27 at 8 p.m. in the Dining Hall. 

Self-service room/roommate selection will follow with senior selection on April 3, juniors April 4, sophomores April 5, and freshmen April 6. 

Warren apartments will be limited to those who are 20 AND a junior until April 5, then remaining apartments will be released to juniors & seniors who would like sophomore roommates.  At Least 2 juniors/seniors must be in each apartment and sophomore roommates must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED TO SIGN-UP FOR HOUSING.    

All full-time students must reside on campus unless 20 AND a junior by the first day of class, married, veteran, or reside exclusively at the permanent, primary parent/guardian’s residence within 50 driving miles of Southwestern College.  

Students living off-campus are subject to lose 40% of their academic scholarship.  Please visit Financial Aid! Students who plan to live off campus will need to complete and return an off campus application by April 7.  Applications are available in the Student Affairs Office in Sutton Hall.

Housing prices are listed below. If you are signing up for a private room or apartment that is more expensive then your current housing, please contact financial aid prior to housing sign-up. You may need to apply for more financial aid loans so that you will not have an outstanding bill.

Residential Facility Information
All residence halls and apartments are furnished with beds, dressers, and desks for the default capacity of the room.  College furniture is not to be moved and the college does not store furniture. Students are allowed to bring additional living room furnishings if they wish.


Apartments

WARREN: Students who are 20 years of age and junior status have priority to live in Warren Apartments. Two bedroom town homes with kitchen and 1 ½ baths, housing up to 4 students.Meal plan optional, open during semester breaks and available for summer occupancy. HONOR: One bedroom apartment with kitchen and 1 bathroom, housing up to 2 students. Meal plan optional, open during semester breaks and available for summer occupancy. See pictures in the Residence Life Handbook PDF.


Suites

REID: Studio (one student), one bedroom (up to 2 students), and two bedroom (up to 4 students) suites, 1 bathroom, no kitchen*. Meal plan required. Closed during semester breaks. *Suites without kitchens are not allowed any kitchen appliances with heating elements, except for coffee pots with automatic shut offs. Residence Halls

BROADHURST: Co-ed living for upperclassmen and transfers. Private and double rooms.  Bathroom shared between two rooms. Meal plan required. Community kitchen available. Closed during semester breaks. See pictures in the Residence Life Handbook PDF.

COLE: Housing for freshmen women. Meal plan required. Closed during semester breaks. See pictures in the Residence Life Handbook PDF.

SUTTON: Co-ed living for upperclassmen and transfers. Private Rooms Only.  Suites with shared bathroom between two rooms. Meal plan required. Closed during semester breaks. See pictures in the Residence Life Handbook PDF.
