GRANT [grant] noun - money that is yours to keep. Scholarships and grants come from five basic places: The federal government The state government The institution you are attending And private resources An additional private resource for our students is The United Methodist Church

Tips for Finding Scholarships:

• Complete your FAFSA
• Mark your calendar for yearly paperwork and deadlines
• Talk to your financial aid counselor
• Find any city/regional scholarships
• Look at unique offers in your state
• Look at any applicable federally sponsored scholarships
• Exhaust all campus-specific offers (field of study, clubs, organizations, alumni, etc.)
• Look for "fringe" scholarships: fun contests, unique offers
• Use trusted scholarship search engines
